Independence Day

The fourth of July we spent with J's parents. We had yummy homemade hamburgers and fries followed by fireworks. Baby J LOVED the fireworks. Baby Z, on the other hand, was very scared of most of them. Especially the great, big, loud illegal ones the neighbor was setting off.
We did have one small mishap. A small aerial tipped over and shot into the back yard. My father-in-law went to check the damage and calmly says "Oh, there's a fire." Luckily a neighbor was already on the scene, with a hose.

Vernal

The last few months J's band has played several shows in Vernal. Since Vernal is home to many dinosaur museums we decided to take the kids this past weekend.

The kids on the way there.
We got there about 2:30pm and had some lunch before going to one of the museums.
As it turns out Baby Z is a VERY bad traveler. When she got out of her car seat she would only have mommy hold her, and she would have nothing to do with the stroller.

This was the kids' favorite area. It had a little tunnel they could walk through, and an area to dig for fossils.

Out side the museum were lots of dinos. Some even looked in the windows so you could see them while inside.

Once outside, Baby J took off. J managed to hold onto him long enough for me to get the above picture. But once he was put down he ran. I chased after him and he stopped here at the triceratops.

But he broke the rules and went behind the rope.
Once our party caught up with us, Baby J was off again. I chased him to the gold fish pond. I had to grab him a few times to keep him from jumping in.
After we left the museum we were all ready for big nap. We were able to get a free room because J's band was playing that night and were compted rooms. After a short nap, we ordered a pizza and found out that the show was going to be earlier than expected and was all ages. We certainly picked a good day to take the family.

My in-laws had gone with us so J and his dad headed to the show at 8:00 and half an hour later his mom and I gathered up the kids and headed over.
Baby Z was very cranky and fell asleep after a short walk in the stroller. Baby J likes to always be on the move, so when we stopped moving so we could watch the show, he insisted Grandma follow him around.

After the show we packed up and left. We figured since the show was earlier than expected, we could arrive home at 1am and sleep in our own beds rather the original plan: J return to the hotel at 1am, we sleep there and return home in the morning.
The only set back was our bad traveler. Baby Z screamed for 50 minutes straight. Nothing calmed her. Luckily after she finally fell asleep, she remained asleep the remaining 2-1/2 hours of the trip.

Life in Pictures

I can't really remember all that's happened since I last posted. So I looked through our camera and decided to let the pictures do the talking.
Baby Z found Baby J's crayons and liked the taste of them.
J took Baby J out for a while one morning so the girls could stay sleeping for little while.
They went mini-wheeling...
 and big wheeling!
 Baby J loved it!
I bought an AC DC onesie for Baby J which now fits Baby Z. Doesn't she look like a business woman?
 "Give this to marketing please"
Baby J wanted to try pickles with his daddy.
 They were very yummy!
Baby Z can now pull herself up to things and loves to grab everything. Here she is with her victorious spoils, augratin potatoes.
I put a video on the computer for Baby Z while I ran into the other room real quick. When I returned I found them like this. So cute!
 I just love this picture

Cuteness

I was looking through my camera and found these cute pictures of the kids.
Baby Z with her new, and improved pigtails

She loves Baby J's Cookie Monster piano.

Aah... a good look at the disaster our house has become. Baby J loves those pink sunglasses and Baby Z is our princess!

He liked the tiara, too!

I know... cuteness!

When I found this, I had to get it!

Doesn't she look like a tiny flapper?

Baby Z (like Baby J) quickly out grew the new born car seat and would cry whenever we drove anywhere. So we got her a big girl car seat. I always said I would only get gender neutral big things, but since they both need to be in big boosters we figured might as well get a girly one. This brand works great and is inexpensive but has NO cushion what-so-ever. So I bought some foam and stuffed them. Car rides are so much funner for the the whole family!

The Totally Awesome Park

Early in March we had some rather warm days. On one particularly sunny day we decided to take the kids back to Veteran's Memorial Park to play.
Baby Z sure liked the swings.
Baby J preferred walking around. He made sure never to step on that cold white stuff.
He is a boy through and through. He loves steering wheels and honking horns.
 Momma and daughter swinging together.
We finally got Baby J into a swing and he remembered how much fun it is!

The Most Beautiful Kids in the World

Since the day I found out I was pregnant with  Baby Z, I have been trying to find a big brother shirt/onesie that I approve of. The first thing I found out was that nobody makes a brother shirt or onesie that will fit a four month old. The second think I found was that all the shirts I COULD find were too feminine for my taste. Finally, after a year of looking, I found a shirt I could have my little boy sport.

It truly is impossible for me to get a good picture of both my children, together.

Four Months and More

I have realized that I haven't blogged about some of the fun that's been going on around here.
Baby J has been talking more and more. His most common phrases are: "Hi," "Uh Oh," "Roarrr!" "I did it," and his theme song "Teekle, Teekle."
We finally got Sam's Club memberships. I've taken the kids by myself several times and Baby J loves the free samples. Baby J doesn't care what they're handing him. He will eat it with a smile on his face.
Baby Z officially turned four months on the 8th. She is such a fun addition to our family. It's so interesting to see the difference between Baby J and Baby Z. Since day one, Baby Z has hated to be dirty. She gets upset when she has even the tiniest amount of urine in her diaper. Baby J would prefer to be dirty and messy all day.
The above is a picture of Baby Z in a nightgown that was mine when I was a baby! Isn't it so cute!

Here she is smiling at something on TV.

For Christmas, my in-laws gave Baby J this Cookie Monster that eats cookies. He grabs him by the eyes to open his mouth and then shoves the cookies...or nuts... or graham crackers, down Cookie Monster's throat.

Now for some Baby Z stats:
Weight - 16 lb 6 oz (95%)
Length - 25.5 in (90%)
Head - 15.17 in (25%)
I will now end with a picture of cuteness.
